The Marantz SA-14S1 SACD player and DSD DAC arrived here today and sat out on the stoop in sub-zero temperatures for a few hours. Lovingly packaged by Marantz Japan and wrapped in a snug extra box by the Dutch eBay seller*, it arrived here in pristine shape and is … 15 kilograms of wonderful. After a few hours of getting acclimated, it already displays what I thought it would … pure sound. If nothing ex- or implodes in the next 48 hours, I am one happy camper. Just sayin’.

*I have no idea how he was able offer this one for around Euro 1600.-, especially because everyone in my immediate vicinity  is asking Euro 2500.- for it, but it is a) new, b) expertly packed and … c) the best thing since sliced bread. 😉
