Site Updates

Although a website lives off the posts that are published regularly, ever since I decided to throw everything but the kitchen sink at deus62.com, those new posts are not the only items added to the website.

So, if you are interested, on this page you will find any changes and additions that append a flourish here or there. It’s a timeline of sorts, collecting anything and everything that was added and/or changed outside of the publishing schedule.

Most of all, it’s also a log for myself as sometimes it is a good idea to be able to retrace one’s steps.

[January 17, 2017] I changed the look of this site by installing a different theme, Lenscap by Mike McAlister’s Array Themes, simply because I was running into too many issues with the previous one.

[January 2, 2017] My small Anthony Vadala Memorial Website was added as a subdomain to deus62.com. Anthony Vadala (1940-2000), commonly known as “Mr. V.”, was the best teacher I have ever had and a person to aspire to. This single-page website has been around for a while and has gotten quite a bit of traffic ever since its inception, but the old site had been frozen in time, enshrouded by a non-responsive theme that just didn’t register on the search engines properly. Maybe this new version will remedy that problem.

[December 19, 2017] I implemented a caching solution to speed up the site a bit. I decided to use WP Rocket, an excellent premium plugin with equally excellent support. It was a breeze to set up and works like a charm. Highly recommended if you feel like paying for a solution.

[December 17, 2016] I added the first pages to the new gallery on deus62.com. If you want to visit Lanzarote (Canary Islands), you really should check out the hotel I always stay at (which is right next to a fabulous beach), Cafe la Ola, which happens to be my favorite bar, and my two favorite restaurants in and around Puerto del Carmen, Taberna De Nino and La Taberna del Puerto (Puerto Calero). tell them I sent you.
