Maurice White (1941-2016)

Maurice White was one of those musicians that has dominated my music collection since the 1970s. His work as both a musician and producer with Earth, Wind & Fire (one of the few bands whose material I have several times over) was flawless.

His only solo album was one of the few CDs I actually hunted down in the 90s when it quickly appeared and then completely disappeared from the market for quite some time (today it’s readily available again). I still remember the sound I made when I finally found a used copy (mint) in some raunchy second hand music store in Scandinavia. Heads turned that day.

Time to give all of it a spin once again these next days in memory of a great musician.
