Lugana DOC & Astoria IGT

One of the highlights of this past weekend in Stuttgart was – once again – a stroll through the “Markthalle“, shopping for an evening of excellent Italian cheeses and (red) wine.

Luckily, it was raining cats and dogs for a little while and one was literally “forced” to enjoy some excellent Italian pre-dinner white wines, a Lugana DOC (M.M. Biscardo, Sommacampagna) and a Sauvignon Blanc Astoria IGT (Veneto), perched above the buzzling indoor market in a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

P.S.: The red wine, Nebbiolo d’Alba, Portinale, which complimented the Italian bread and the selected (and relatively pricey) cheeses wonderfully later that evening, was another positive surprise.
