Whenever I test new equipment, the first track that’s thrown at it is “Genesis” from George Duke’s album, “Illusions” (George Duke. Illusions. Warner Bros. Records, 1995, 9-45755-2).

If the player, the amp or the speakers can handle that track with its electronic gadgetry and it’s wild peaks (when turned up fully), especially the somewhat distant thunder-like sounds and whopping electronic crescendo towards the end, then everything is A-OK.

I just hooked up my most recent arrival (the last piece of the puzzle), Marantz’ PM-14S1, and …
… everything is A-OK.
