Complete Master(s)

January 8th is not really that far gone (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977), so I thought whenever time allows this week, I will dive into the 711 original master recordings (plus 103 additional rare recordings) contained on “The Complete Elvis Presley Masters” (RCA Records/Sony Legacy, October 2010) which, to my ears, sound better than anything previously released.

A few recordings are missing (the 1977 Elvis in Concert TV special and album, for example).
Many (later) recordings I’m not a fan of, at all
But.
When he hit ’em out of the ballpark, they just kept flying.
